What a week!!

So, Chloe is turning into quite the little jabber jaw!! She, just in the last few weeks, has begun saying all sorts of things. Her newest is "door". She also has started saying that dreaded word - NO! She is just such a little character. She does Itsy Bitsy Spider by herself and Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes with just me singing. She has the greatest laugh too. I nearly lost it today when I went to get her at the gym and the girls gave me a picture she colored all by herself. When we were leaving they wanted to show me her newest "trick". One girl said "bye" and gave her a high five. The other girl said "bye" and put her fist out. Chloe looked at the girl and without hesitating gave her a fist bump!! I declared at that moment that my child is a genius...a really cool genius.

Next week Miker and I are headed to Austin. We will be celebrating the 4th with our great friends, David and George. On Saturday, we are attending the wedding of a close friend of ours, Josh. While I'm looking forward to it, I'm dreading leaving Chloe for that long. I know she'll be fine. She's staying with my Aunt Tammy, who she just adores.

Well, I guess that's all for now. Hope everyone has a great hump day!

Oh, and by the way, for some reason, my spell check on here has never worked...please be kind when reading.

I've posted some pics from the last couple of weeks and also included some from last year at this time. Aww...she was so tiny!!

First Born

So, I feel a little bad. I've been talking about Chloe so much and I haven't even mentioned my eldest child. We actually adopted him 4 years ago from the Burbank animal shelter. I'm talking about my beautiful fat kitty - Monkey. He has beautiful green eyes and black hair. He loves to sing and cuddle. We also adopted his brother - Scratcher. Unfortunaetly, Scratcher passed away from cancer last March. It was very hard on us but I feel like he is still around and keeps an eye on Chloe.

Chloe loves Monkey and refers to him as Ko. I really think Monk likes her but is also scared to death of her. She's very gentle with him but she gets so excited when around him she usually ends up screaming and scaring the living daylights out of him.

I don't have much more to say right now.... I just wanted to give our sweet boy a shout out. Thanks for being a good boy Monko!!!!

14 Months!!!!!

So, today Chloe turns 14 months old. It's crazy how fast time flies by. She has changed so much. I decided to go back and look at pictures of her from exactly a year ago. I remember thinking how awesome she was then. Today I am amazed by her and I'm sure in another year she will thrill me even more. Here are some pics from 6/18/07 and some taken today.

If you notice, in the pics taken today, she is wearing a Queen concert t-shirt. This was given to her by her cool Aunt Kendra. When I was about 5 months pregnant Miker drug me to Best Buy so he could look at video games. I was really exhausted and noticed an area in the tv section where you could sit down. As I sat there, the sales guy came up to one of the enormous tvs and popped in a dvd. It was a recording of a Queen concert. He turned it up super loud to show off the sound system. About 2 minutes into "Another One Bites the Dust" the baby inside (she didn't have a name yet) started goin' bonkers!!! She had never kicked like that before. So, after that it became a running joke that Queen was her favorite band. A month or so later I was at work. I was just sittng and reading a magazine when all of the sudden the baby started doing the can- can. I then realized "Fat Bottom Girls" playing on the radio. IT WAS TRUE!!! Queen was my soon to be daughter's favorite band!!!!
Fast forward to a 9 month prego Roxane with no middle name for her baby. (we had pretty much settled on Chloe but had no middle names) I had always liked the name Rain. I kept putting that in Miker's ear but he was by no means sold. So, one day I was bugging him about making a decision and he said "ok, type the name Rayne (that's the spelling he liked) into the computer and see what the origin/meaning is. I found a website, typed it in, and it came back with Origin-French.
Meaning- QUEEN!!! I screamed!! I said it was a sign. So, that's how we came up with Chloe Rayne.

Enjoy the pics!!

It's the little things

So, we had a really relaxing weekend. It started out a little rough because Miker had to put the Jeep in the shop because of some problems it's been having. We just chilled at home for most of the morning and around 2 we decided to head to one of our favorite liitle restaurants in downtown Plano. We usually sit outside and people watch but it was almost 100 degrees so we headed inside. Chloe was being her crazy self. When the waitress came up to get our drink order Chloe started touching her and got a hold of one of her belt loops. I gave a nervouse laugh and grabed her hand. Chloe went right back for it. The waitress, thank goodness, had a good sesne of humor about it.

After that, we went to the mall!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! We actually went so Miker could get one of those crazy cookie things (I think their called Doozies??). He ended up with 2 and I got a little blue shirt. Woo hoo!! I think Chloe takes after her dad because she seemed to enjoy the cookie way more than the dressing room. Go figure. When we left there we decided to stop off at World Market. We browsed the wine section and picked up a few bottles. We also got some pretty new coasters!! We came home vegged out and after Chloe hit the hay opened one of our yummy new Cabs. Around 9 I was ready for bed. Miker wanted to keep me up so he bribed me by putting on Reality Bites. I lasted until about 10:30.

Sunday morning Chloe decided to get me up around 6am. She was ready to play. We let dad sleep in since it was Father's Day. He crawled out of bed around 9:30. He read Chloe one of her favorite books that happens to come with a cd of silly songs. Chloe danced and danced. Around 11 Miker went to play disc golf with some other dads and Chloe and I went grocery shopping. When Miker got home we decided to grab some Chinese food. We got SO lucky - Chloe passed out in the car on the way there and slept through our entire meal!!! I can't tell you the last time that happened. I actually got to eat using both hands. She woke up just as we were leaving. We went across the street to an area with dfferent stores and I got 2 more shirts. Miker got a nifty new pair of flip flops.

So, overall the Daddy's Day weekend was really nice. I have a pretty cool little family.

So, I have been inspired as of late to create this blog for the sake of keepng peeps updated on our lives. I feel like I can never seem to remember all of the fun details of different situations when people ask "what's new" or "how are things". I can never remember what stories I have told each person so now this can act as my own personal memory recorder.

Today Chloe and I went to the gym like usual. I really enjoy going to the YMCA because the gym is nice and family friendly but also the child care chicks are super cool and they all really seem to like Chloe. I still have trouble sometimes getting her to leave me and go to one of them but she quickly recovers and has a blast. Her favorite "teacher" is a nice girl named Brittney. She's great. Chloe is always excted to see her. Let's just cross our fingers that Brittney (who is all of 19, I'm guessing) wants to stay at the Y until she retires...wishful thinking, know. Anyway, today I go to pick her up and Brittney waves at me to come into the area where the kids play. I see Chloe in a swing going really fast. She has a grin on her face that I can't describe. She doesn't notice me. Brittney stops the swing and Chloe looks at her with much concern and as clear as a bell she says "go!" "Go, go, go, go....." until she starts the swing again. They repeat this 3 more times and everytime we can't help but crack up. Now, this may not sound that amazing to some of you but this was one of the first times I've heard Chloe say something knowing what would happen as a result. Good times.

I guess I'll keep her...:)
